Software features include:

  • Startup: Units boot significantly faster than previous generation
  • Support for SDXC flash cards – supporting up to 2TB
  • SD/USB: Storage devices are mounted as they appear, not only at boot

The following describes the requirements for video to play successfully on the BrightSign.

 


HD120, HD220, HD1020, HD110, HD210, HD410, HD810, and HD1010:

  • MPEG-2, MPEG-1, H.264 (MPEG-4, Part 10)
  • Supported extensions are .TS, .MPG, .VOB, .MOV, .MP4
  • Additionally Supported .WMV (.WMV requires BrightAuthor 2.3 or later)
    • Windows Media 9 or later only with WMA audio (NO WMA PRO)
  • MPEG-2 Program and Tranport streams
  • H.264 Transport and Program Streams (program streams (mov & mp4) require firmware 3.5)
    • AAC audio supported with h.264 files
    • Main or High Profile up to level 4.1
    • CBR audio (vbr not supported)
  • MPEG-1 System Streams only (elementary streams are not supported)
  • Maximum bit rate recommended is 25Mbps; see Video Quality Technote for details on higher bit rate support
  • Maximum video resolution supported is 1920x1080p (progressive)

 

HD600:

  • MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 Standard video files
  • Supported extensions .MPG and .VOB
  • Must be a Program Stream (System Stream for MPEG-1)
  • Must contain an audio layer at a 48Khz sample rate, even if it's just silence.
  • Maximum bit rate supported is 9Mbps
  • Maximum video resolution supported is 720x480



HD2000:

  • MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 HD or Standard video files
  • Supported extensions .MPG and .VOB
  • Must be a Program Stream (System Stream for MPEG-1)
  • Maximum bit rate supported is 25Mbps
  • Maximum video resolution supported is 1920x1080i (interlaced)
