Can I use a Motion sensor with a BrightSign player?

Last Updated: February 5, 2015

Yes, you can attach a motion sensor to your BrightSign player using the GPIO port. When the motion sensor is triggered, the BrightSign player receives it as a button press (i.e. GPIO Event).

Most PIR-sensors need 5v, not 3.3v, so maybe someone can give a wire-diagram.

I suggest you to use a motion sensor with a relay output so you can connect directly to the GPIO port of brightsign without worries.

If your sensor gives you a voltage at the output you can use a relay with the coil rated at this voltage to give a dry contact to the GPIO port of Brightsign..
