How do synchronized BrightSign players communicate?

BrightSign players communicate using Ethernet when they are synchronized (using BrightWall or Synchronize commands). Synchronization over WiFi is not supported.

    Can I use WiFi to remotely schedule and manage content while connecting the players with ethernet for sync?

    In order to play in sync, the BrightSign players must be on the same local network, connected via Ethernet cables. Your computer can be connected to network via WiFi.

    I'm sorry I did make question clear. Can an XD player with WiFi adapter receive scheduling and content from the Brightsign Network over wireless and also be on a local wired router for sync? Or in a 2-screen Brightwall: synced by Ethernet between the 2 players.

    This scenario wasn't tested and isn't supported. The connection over wire always takes precedence over wireless unless the BrightSign unit is configured otherwise in the unit setup dialog.

    Do the players really have to be in network? Or just connected to eachother by ethernet cables and a switch? Or do they need to have an actual IP adress that puts them in the same range? Because I noticed you can create the projects locally on the memory card instead of putting your computer in the same network. Isn't creating that project on the memory cards of the players going to delete the IP settings of that player?

    You can create a stand alone BrightWall without a network.  We have done this many times with the factory network settings and simply attached all the players to a stand alone, inexpensive Netgear switch.  (A two-player BrightWall will work simply connecting the two players with a single ethernet cable) 

    If you have more than one BrightWall connected to the switch, then you'll need to have a unique Domain number for each BrightWall in the BrightWall configuration.

    If your players have already been network configured and you want to run them in standalone mode - I'm not sure if the IP info gets wiped out with a new setup file.  Probably best to perform a factory reset.
