Pwr Bsy WiFi Err
  • Green power (Pwr): Displays when the board is powered up and not in reset mode. Flashes during firmware update process.
  • Green file-system activity (Bsy): Flashes any time there is file-system activity (on any storage device).
  • Blue WiFi: Flashes when the player is connecting to the wireless network. Displays when connected.
  • Red status (Err): Flashes a certain number of times to indicate which error is occurring. The flash codes are described below.

Solid red "Err" led and solid orange "Upd" led usually indicates a hardware failure, and can occur when incorrect power was supplied to the unit. You should use only native power adapter with the brightsign.

You can try to recover the brightsign by resetting it to factory defaults. See instructions in this FAQ:

    http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/21796878-How-do-I-restore-reset-a-unit-to-Factory-Default-settings-

and by installing the firmware on the brightsign in rescue mode. Refer to "Updating with Rescue Mode" section in this guide:

    http://brightsignbiz.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/Firmware%20Installation%20Instructions%28HD%20and%20XD%29.pdf

If problem persists, the brightsign unit will need to be replaced.

Can someone explain why all of a sudden I am not able to setup a single xd1032?

I have done it a couple of dozen times before with no issue but now every attempt fails.

Pwr light stays solid green but Upd and Err lights blink 100 times (literally) and then it reboots itself.

I tried reseting it to factory defaults and not update a firmware, tried updating firmware versions (all i could find), different presentations, different SD cards, updated brightauthor, factory resets, puting or not puting it on the network - nothing changes (tested it on 3 brand new xd1032s and 2 xd1030s)

    Please advise

    Hi Yegor,

So were you able to successfully reset the XD1032 to factory defaults? If yes, try to create a new presentation in BrightAuthor (File > New Presentation) for XD1032 model, add a couple of images to presentation, save and publish a presentation to empty SD card, insert SD card in the XD1032 and then power it up.

    Hi there.

I have had a HD222 running for the past couple of days at my house on my Brightsign Network account. When I take it out to the location where it is to be installed it does not connect to the BrightNetwork. I have tested the connection with my own computer and it has full Internet access. The HD222 powers up fine, but then the Err and Upd lights both blink 10 times (simultaneously).

    Any idea what this means?

    Thank you

    Dwayne

    Hi Dwayne,

Err (red) and Upd (orange) leds flashing together means the unit can't complete setup because it can't reach our servers.

The BrightSign unit will attempt to communicate with the following addresses to reach the cloud:

    http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/168725-what-ports-do-i-have-to-open-in-my-firewall-for-the-brightsign

If you paste the URL below in a web browser, do you get a page or error? Test from the same network where the unit is located.

    https://services.brightsignnetwork.com//recovery/recovery_runsetup_ba.brs

This is the first thing the unit is trying to download from the cloud.
