The Image Cache allows you to preload some images into player memory so that they display much faster. You can use up to 16MB of player graphics memory for the Image Cache. BrightAuthor shows how much memory each image will use when it’s opened; for an overview of currently cached images in the presentation, navigate to File > Presentation Properties > Image Cache.
Note: Compressed images can consume more memory than their reported file size.
