    Hi Jan,

Did you get this to work?

We have only tested/support mpeg2 video files that are D1 60fps (720x480 60 fps).  We will be adding support for 50hz/Pal resolution files over the next month or so via a software update.

Have you tried downloading the "demo" from the BrightSign support page on our web site?  It has two demo mpeg2 video clips.  Does it work?

Have you tried a different video file?

What is the source of your video file?

Make sure you have upgraded to the latest software (also available for download from the BrightSign support page on our web site).

    Hi

    Still does not work

    I use version 1.0.72

    I use VGA 1024x768 output

    I use 720x576@50hz Mpeg2 6Mbit/s

I have tried to use the latest autoplay.bas and call the file autoplay.vob

it's looping but with a pause for like 10sec.

I have tried to have no bas scripdt and to use the serial cmd

    videoplay file loopvideo

same result ... when the clip has ended if I videoplay filename it plas instant.... so there must be somthin I miss.

I have tried to use tehAq.mpg from the dem.zip

    Same result

    Please advise

    Jan,

If you copy use the brightsign demo as is, without any changes, is there a similar delay between the end of either the acquarium or dalmations movie and the return to he main menu?

Can you post or send a message with the modified script or state file you use to get your video to loop indefinitely?

    Hi

I have no delay in the demo.cvs when end of vide goes back to main still.

I have just tried to replace demo_menu.bmp in the autoplay.cvs in the aq line for videoend to aq.mpg

    Then it does loop the aq.mpg ...  <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->

Only small problem are a black hole for 1 sec or so...

any way to to get rid of this?

I still would have expected a rs232 videoplay filename loop would have done the same.

    Jan,

Please try this and let me know the results:

    1. power off

    2. Put in CF card that has aq.mpg on it

    3. Power on

    4. from shell: videoplay /aq.mpg loop

(i cant remember if "loop" is the right keyword to loop, so use help videoplay to verify).

    Does that work?

I am wondering if once you play your 50fps file, that it causes problems after?

    Hi

On a reset and playing the clip from the console

    videoplay aq.mpg

    videoplay loop

    then I have the long pause between the loop  <!-- s:-( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:-( -->

    but here is no black when  it strat to play again... <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->

You should be able to see the same at ROKU

    Jan,

We have duplicated your results and we are investigating the issue.

    Hi all,

We are having a similar issue with looping files. I have a file with silence for audio and some with music for audio, they seem to loop fine the first time through, but after the first pass there is a very long delay in between loops. I don't get black, rather I get the last frame of video that was played.

It seems to be about 20 to 25 seconds worth of delay. This happens when running a script, so I thought it might have been bad code but my co-worker is having the same issue with another file entirely, run from the console. Between the two of us, we've determined that this is either random or it occurs after every third loop.

Incidentally, the script is still responsive while the video is hung up. I can still press a button and get the desired response.

    Hope this helps.

This appears to be a bug in BrightSign.  We will have a fix and/or work around shortly.

One thing you might try is not to loop the video, but instead detect the video end event, and then retrigger the video.  This will probably work, but will not be as seemless as they way looping video is supposed to work.

More info on the problem with some video files not looping well.

I tested three files, and two of the three work fine.  The one that has a problem is the aq.mpg file on the Roku Demo.  The dalmations.mpg on the same demo works fine, as did another file I tried.

I believe that the two that worked had 5.1 encoded sound, and the aquarium just has stereo audio.  So perhaps if you add a 5.1 sound track, your videos will work okay.

We are investigating the root cause, and will post an update to fix it next Monday or Tuesday (after thanksgiving).

    Hi

Ok we will wait and see...

All the clips we use have no 5.1

As I wrote earlier the cvs scrip with end of video does trigger the clip to loop but with black in between (1 sec)
