slideshow image display time

Is it possible to lengthen the amount of time each slide is displayed without writing a brightscript? I'd like to keep the slideshow creation process as simple as possible for the end user. To name files "autorun1.bmp, autorun2.bmp, etc and copy them to the flash card is very simple but each slide only displays briefly. I had used a different player in the past that allowed the same image to take up several slots, ie: autorun1.bmp, autorun2.bmp and autorun3.bmp all being the same image would allow it to display 3 times as long. That player had a fading effect between images so that the transition was unnoticeable. The Brightsign transition from one image to the next is abrupt and noticeable. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

    Joe,

You can edit one line in the autorun.bas file to increase the amount of time each image is displayed.

Under Play_Slides:, you'lll find this line.

    sleep(3000) ' wait 3 seconds

To change the wait to 5 seconds, chang the line to: sleep(5000)

Also, we are testing a playlist feature. Send me an email at lallydice@rokulabs.com and I'll send you the autorun.bas file you need to test it. It's the simplest way to loop through content. With the playlist feature, it's easier to play the same image multiple times, or change the time between slides.

There isn't currently a setting for transitions that that would allow an image to fade out or in. I'll check if this is something we're working on for a future release.

    Joe,

I just wanted to let you know we do have plans to add support for transitions between images during playback.

    Lyndon,

Any word on transitions such as fades or pushes or any other kind between still images. I need this feature very badly and other media players are offering this. I love the brightsign but without this I may need to switch.

I have tried using Sony Vegas Studio 8.0 to create a slideshow of images with transitions but they come out really blurry. Please help me get this straightened out.

    Thanks-

    Cosmo,

When do you need this functionality? On the HD2000, we are currently testing this feature. But, the software release that contains transitions in in early testing. It won't be in beta until the end of april.

    Lyndon,

Thank you for your quick response, as always.

I need these transitions as soon as possible, but I am currently running HD600s. Do you know if these will be running any time soon? Also, what types of transitions will the BETA contain?

    Regards-

I don't know of any plans to add the transitions to the HD600. They will be released on the HD2000s.

As far as types of transitions:

    -Wipes (from all four sides)

-Image exploding from center, top, left, right

    -Venetian blinds

    -Comb effect

    -Fade out

    -fade between

    -slide from all four sides

See, I need those transitions added to my 600's. Are the software programs that far apart that they cannot be added to both? I would think that the 600 series would be a perfect candidate for these. I am planning to buy more units in the near future, but not without these transitions when more inexpensive units already come with them installed.

The HD600 and HD2000s are different. I'm not saying the functionality couldn't be added, because I haven't been told it's impossible, but there aren't plans, currently, to add transitions to the HD600.

Can you email me at lallydice@rokulabs.com? I'd like to know how many HD600s you have already, and what additional features you need in the additional units you mentioned.
