    To Add a Media RSS feed, click on the Other tab, and drag the Media RSS icon to your playlist. Then enter the Media RSS URL. This doesn't work with feeds that use HTML tags, and we currently only support images over media rss.

    Hello Lyndon,

    Hope you had a good holiday.  Can you provide a sample RSS.XML file that requests an image.

    Thank you,m

    Updated 6/24/2011 - Framchannel has announced they are closing their service. This service will no longer be available.

    You can do it with the rss feed you can get from a frame channel account. For example, this is the rss feed from my framechannel account:

    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rss.framechannel.com/user=hd2000/pin=1234">http://rss.framechannel.com/user=hd2000/pin=1234</a><!-- m -->

    The User in the URL is your login name and the pin is found on the advanced settings page. It's possible the URL listen in the image below is no longer available.

    Edit: If you have a framechannel account, you can get the URL under Settings, Advanced:

    Hello Lyndon,

    Thanks for the "simplified" RSS link.  I broke down and have it functioning off my server now.  Question,  can "transitions" be used between images that are controled by the "Media RSS" feed.  Currently, it only has a 'cut'.

    Thanks,

    The correct link ist:

    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rss.framechannel.com/user=hd2000/pin=1234">http://rss.framechannel.com/user=hd2000/pin=1234</a><!-- m -->  and not ping <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

    And there is no Url in the advanced settings but it works! 01/2010

    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rss.framechannel.com/user=">http://rss.framechannel.com/user=</a><!-- m -->"username"/pin="XXXX" the pin is not your login! -> it is the player pin!

    I was wondering what media types does using mrss with brightsign require,  I have created a few jpg image feeds and it work like it should, but was wondering if it supports pdf or flash????

    Ok, great. Thanks RokuLyndon very much. I really want to know this because in some days before I tried to convert a video into RSS feed, but I can't. Thank to you, I have the answer.

    I've tested both a signchannel feed and a Screenfeed MRSS feed and both seem to flicker slightly.

    The Screenfeed MRSS feed contains 3 images but only plays the the first one.

    Can you think of what could be causing this?

    I'm using BrightAuthor 2.0 with lastest Beta Firmware at 1920x1080

    Thanks

    If you playback images locally, you don't see this flicker?

    If you enter your feed into a web browser, do you see all three images?

    hopefully this is not a thread hijack, if so can it be moved.  I am trying to experiment with the same thing and am curious about the rss parameters and what a sample might look like?  Is the device mainly looking for a media:content tag in the rss feed to pull an image?  And how do I control timing and the speed when using an rss feed?

    I am also curious about this. How to set timing and transitions?

    It would be nice if you could write a small manual on how the RSS works. It´s a bit fuzzy on what tags the player looks for.

    Cheers!

    Hi all,
    I'm looking for an URL media rss feed that could inform me about the weather in a city using an image...
    If it is a sunny day I should see an image with a sun for instance.
    I have found this one <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.rssweather.com/wx/es/sevilla/rss.php">http://www.rssweather.com/wx/es/sevilla/rss.php</a><!-- m --> but when I write this URL to the URL for rss feed in brightAuthor, I get the following message: "This feed is not a valid media RSS feed"
    I have also try with this one: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.rssweather.com/hw3.php?place=sevilla&state=&country=es&utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss">http://www.rssweather.com/hw3.php?place ... medium=rss</a><!-- m --> but I get this message for this URL: "Unable to access specified RSS feed. Check the URL or try a new one"
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards.

    It's possible those feeds are html hybrids, and aren't true rss 2.0 feeds. You could try adding one of those feeds to microsoft's frameit service, or to framechannel's service, and then use the frameit or framechannel url with brightauthor. I know that the media rss links generated by frameit live and framechannel both work with brightauthor and the brightsign.

    thanks,

    For the framechannel account, it will ask you what device manufacture you have, scroll to the bottom and select OTHER, then on the next option, select NOT LISTED.

    Thanks

    Does anyone know of a solution similar to FrameChannel that will work with Brightsign?

    Thanks
