Creating interactive projects using rectangular touch

HI everybody, I would need some help. I don't see how to create an interactive project using a rectangular touch with a HD1010. I mean, for instance, I have created a 3 zones screen (video and two images zones) and use a rectangular touch event in each image zone. The idea is to be able to change the video that is been played to another one when I touch in the images areas. Thanks in advance. Regards, Nando.

    Please take a look at this linkzones video. It shows you how to send signals from one zone to another.

    Hello, I'm having a simuliar issue as stated. I'm using an HD810 unit with the 2.0 Bright Author software. I have defined four interactive zones, one video & image and three image. The three image zones are linked to the video zone. The idea is to play a video or display an image based on which image zone is pressed. The idea works, but the problem is the touch  image zone areas are not defined in the image zones, they appear to be randomly place on the
    touch screen. How do I define the touch activation areas to the image zones?

    If you're getting any touch input, you would have had to have created them. If you change resolutions in the project, there's currently a bug where the zones don't translate well to the new resolution. So, you can open up a touch event and resize or move the touch area.

    If you send me your project file, the bpf file, I can modify it for you, <!-- e --><a href="mailto:support@brightsign.biz">support@brightsign.biz</a><!-- e -->. But, you should be able to open the touch events, and change the location of the touch regions.

    Thanks for the response. Yes I did change the resolution to VGA, 640 X 480 in-order for the images and videos to display correctly on the touch screen LCD.
    I have tried resizing and repositioning the touch areas to no avail, unless I'm not doing it correctly. I will send the project file so you can have a look.

    I sent a link to the updated BrightAuthor 2.0 to see if it fixes your problem. When I opened the project. it looked like the touch regions were for the whole zone. Is that not accurate?

    I can not access the link to the updated Bright Author 2.0. The GM system will not allow access. If possible, could you sent me the zipped content by e-mail?
    In regards to the project, I would like the touch regions to be defined as the whole image zones, in those locations.

    Thanks Lyndon for the e-mail with the attachment. Our Information Security Department did not allow the attachment and stripped it from your e-mail.
    It looks like I'll have to complete the download of the updated Bright Author at home this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes on Monday.

    Hi Lyndon, I updated to Bright Author 2.0.0.40 this morning and still encountered the same issue. The touch regions are not defined in the linked image zones. They are however in the same areas as before. I have tried using both resolutions,           1360 X 768 X 60p and 640 X 480 X 60p, as these are the only ones that work with my touch screen. Any other suggestions?

    Hello Lyndon, I'm still working on my project. Since the Bright Author Software couldn't resolve the touch region location issues I was having, I wrote the scripts to get the desired results. All is pretty good, except I'm having an issue with displaying a still image in the video rectangle. The object manual states I can call the "playstaticimage" interface to display the image on the video layer, but this causes the player to reset. Can you help with this issue?

    Lyndon I figured out how to get the scripts to display my still image onto the video layer. No need to respond.

    hi roku support,
    a bit of clarification about touch and linked zones would be nice.
    the video posted as well as example demo deal with end events.
    it would be nice to see an example specifically with touch event triggering a media change.
    possibly i missed it.

    in attached screenshot i have the (single) button zone, which is bascily a go-back-to-main-menu button.
    the second screenshot is for the main video zone, with the main menu and the selection of video playing.
