Trouble with Super States

I have an XD 1132. I set up a Super State, with two super states within. Superstate Slides is what I want playing all the time. Superstate Video is set to kick in an play a 3 min video every 30 mins, then go back to Superstate Slides.  This works great.  What I need to do now is include 4 more videos to play in intervals every 30 mins. So the Slides are playing, then in 30 mins Video 1 plays, then in another 30 mins, Video 2 plays.

The first thing I tried was setting up additional Superstates for each video and adding a time (6:30, 7, 7:30 etc) for each of the videos to play, then go back to Superstate Slides.  This did not work - screen just went black. I doubled checked the times on the players and they are all synced up to the correct time/date.

In another support email, I was told I could use an index. I tried to purpose the sample project they sent me to play the videos on an index and was unable to do so. I don't want the videos to play for 30 mins. I want to play one, then go back to regular slides until another 30 mins, then play the next video in the set.

So what am I missing? What am I doing wrong?

Additionally, I updated my Bright Author software on Friday to the latest version. All of my units have the minimum firmware required.

Thank you.

    Sounds like a fun challenge.

Could you attach your BrightAuthor project file? (No need for media files, only the .bpf file)

What do you mean by "Superstate Slides"?

Would that be Image List, or maybe Image Play File?

I have a superstate that I named "Slides". Within in is just a series of images and some no-audio .wmv files I created in PPT.

Project_Mon is the presentation I set up using Super States

You could put a timer set for 30 min (1800 sec), from the Slides superstate, going to a Video List.

    See attached file.

The assumption was, that when one of the videos is done, your slideshow will start from the top.

    I hope that helped.

Hello! So this worked, in that I finally got the Slides to transition to the video List, then back to the slides. However, all four videos that I added played back to back, then switched back to the slides. What can I do to get it to play one, then stop and go back to slides?

Also, I lost my volume somehow.

I tested with the preview feature in BrightAuthor, but let me try on a real player.

Check the audio settings in Edit -> Playlist ->  Zone Properties

If you are using analog audio (3.5mm stereo jack) you will need to check Audio Output -> Analog Stereo

Update! By unchecking the box "Advance to.." I was able to get one video to play, then transition to Slides, then later, back to another video in the list. So that's a win! I checked my video volume settings for the other video presentations I've used (and I know have worked) and I had Analog and HDMI passthrough checked. I did this and pushed it again, but still no volume

That is good news! Now your presentation is way more manageable than before.

What is your audio configuration hardware-wise?

Is audio being fed via HDMI? is it being fed over analog?

I'm not so sure pass through is the right choice for your wmv... Try switching to Stereo instead

It is being fed over HDMI. That's how we've gotten audio on other presentations to work. My vid files are actually .mp4 rather than .wmv. I just tried the switch from pass through to stereo, no luck.

Ok - I figured it out - somehow the initial volume on the zone got set to zero! I think I am all set. Thank you so much for your help!!!

Hello, I am trying to create a Super State with 4 images and one of those has a Live Feed menu. I follow the tutorial @ http://docs.brightsign.biz/display/DOC/Super+State   but it doesn't say anything about that and the while Previewing the presentation, simply says "Super State Cannot Be Previewed".

How can I make this group work.. don't know If I might be missing something :/  any thoughts?

    Thank you
