USER VARIABLE CHANGE PRICE ON MANY BRIGHTSIGN

Hello,

I would like to be able to modify the prices displayed
in a presentation via a user variable and using brightsign APP.
In my installation I have 25 Brightsign and if I change
a menu price I have to repeat the operation 25 times ... Is it possible when I change the price of a product
it also changes on the other 25 brightsign?
Thank you very much !!

You could change the type of user variable from local to shared, and manage prices at once from BSN, or other remote RSS feed.

Also, Bright Plates was designed with such workflow in mind.

    Hello,

Thank you very much for your answer.

But I don't have a subscription to BSN and BrightPlate.

I have no use for it, because once the players are installed, we will no longer modify the content.

Just update rates or change a product.

How does the remote RSS FEED work? I know the RSS and MRSS feed in Brigntsign, but I have never used it to update variable values.

    thank you so much

I wanted to broadcaster an udp command to change the value of the variable, but it doesn't work.

Besides, I manage to send a UDP command to change the image or change the price list, but even on a simple IP address I can't change the value of the variable.

The separator between the variable is the value is ":"?

    ex: 192.168.1.40:5000/PRICECOCA:3.00

If you're using a web browser, that format wouldn't work - it would try to open a HTTP GET, not send a UDP message.

You can use HERCULES Setup to send and listen for UDP messages.

See the second half of this article for setup (the first half is also good to testing)
    https://brightsign.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/218066107-How-do-I-display-a-UDP-message-using-a-Live-Text-state-in-BrightAuthor-

You can get HERCULES Setup from here - no installation is required - it can just be run directly.

You can use the player's Local Web Server (if enabled) to send UDP events

    https://brightsign.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/209961947-Can-HTML-or-Javascript-fire-a-brightsign-event-

Note that unless you are designating one player as target for the UDP message and that player's presentation resends the message to other players, you should send the UDP message to a broadcast address if you want multiple players to receive it.  For example, if your players are on 192.168.1.x you can send a UDP message to 192.168.1.255 and all devices (not just BrightSign players) will receive it on whatever port you're sending to, if they are listening.

    Hello,

Thank you for your interesting answers.

I use an application on Ipad to send UDP strings.

When I send UDP strings to change an event, it works!

But if I send a UDP string to change the value of a user variable, it doesn't work.

But I'm going to use your idea to listen to the players' UDP strings to look at the structure.

    Thanks a lot
